Considered invasive in northern NJ where this picture was taken, lesser celandine does have a few good qualities in my mind. Aside from providing a stunningly beautiful yellow dusting in spring, it is also great ground cover for areas prone to flooding. And, I’ve noticed that some Canada geese enjoy picking off the flowers – apparently, to geese anyway, they’re tasty.
